These days tire sidewall gluing has become as much a part of model car racing as painting a shell, or checking ride height. Whether its 12th scale pan cars indoors on carpet or 10th scale sedans outdoors on asphalt, as grip climbs there's almost no discipline of racing where this hasn't been the ticket to consistent and fast laps at some point in the last 5 years. The real kick in the mouth about this is the drivers who arguably need to be able to do this the most accurately (newer drivers) are exactly the same drivers who are least likely to be able to do this the most accurately.
